I am certain this was nothing more than a coincidence. But…
…today\’s New York Times crossword puzzle has the clue “Comedian/TV host once called the “Queen of Nice”, the answer to which is “rosie”, meaning rosie o\’donnell…
…and it is the first weekday puzzle in the Times since last Friday, when, during a profanity laced rant about Donald Trump and people who, she claims, are taking away women\’s rights (presumably a reference to abortion restrictions), o\’donnell said:
“I\’d like to take my period blood that I no longer have and write, “You\’re all assholes. I\’d like to smear it all over some people\’s faces.”
Folks, I do not care what you think of Donald Trump, or anyone who wants restrictions on abortion rights, or anyone who wants anything related to women, or men, or anyone or anything else. That is a disgusting, sickening, obnoxious comment.
Feel free to add your own adjectives, and I\’ll bet you have a few. But I\’ll also bet that none of them is “nice”.
I guess the Times puzzle, edited today (and for many years before) by Will Shortz, is on to something with its “once called” description….
