Democratic Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers faced accusations of offending and erasing mothers after he introduced a bill in which the word “mother” was replaced with the phrase “inseminated person.”
The 1,917-page bill was introduced Tuesday by the Wisconsin Senate’s Joint Committee on Finance and contained Evers‘s budget recommendations for the 2025-2027 fiscal period. Amendments to certain parts of the bill that concerned state laws on paternity disputes and artificial insemination recommended that the term “mother” be replaced with “inseminated person” or “person inseminated;” “biological father” with “natural parent;” “husband” with “spouse;” and “male” with “person;” among other changes.
There you go. It’s not just re-inventing pronouns, now it’s re-inventing motherhood and childbirth.
The article goes on to quote several media and activist figures essentially calling Governor Evers a hopeless nutcase who is trying to make (my estimates) over 99% of the population subservient to the less than 1% who think either God, biology or fate has cheated them out of their rightful gender, so they – and everyone else – should play let’s-pretend and act as though there aren’t any genders at all.
I have a question for Governor Evers – one I’ve asked in previous blogs. Suppose I decided that either God, biology or fate has cheated me out of my rightful species and I wasn’t really a human, I was a rabbit. So I had my ears surgically lengthened, a bushy tail surgically implanted on my backside, and I started eating carrots and hopping instead of walking. Would I be a rabbit?
If the answer is “no, that’s absolutely ridiculous”, then explain to me why a biological male who has surgery to make himself look more like a female, then claims to be a female and demands to play in women’s sporting events, use women’s locker and bathroom facilities, etc. is any less ridiculous. I’ll wait for your explanation…but I don’t think you’re going to come up with one.
I’ll end with a reminder to the voters of Wisconsin. You elected this guy. You got what you voted for. So If you don’t like that he pretends mothers aren’t mothers, and there is no such thing as biological genders, you might want to keep that in mind next election day.
