We have been told, incessantly, to the point that it is second-nature “knowledge” that there are about 800,000 so-called “Dreamers” in the United States.
That, it turns out is a flat-out lie.
The total is, in actuality, about 3,600,000 4 1/4 times that many.
And who says so? The liberal/left leaning, Trump-hating USA Today, quoting the Migration Policy Institute, that’s who.
Excerpted from Alan Gomez’s just-published article:
The political debate over the fate of “DREAMers” — undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children — has overlooked just how many there are in the country today: about 3.6 million.
That number of people whose lives risk being uprooted is not widely known, in large part because so much public attention has been focused recently on 800,000 mostly young DREAMers accepted into the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
This smaller group of DREAMers is in the spotlight because President Trump terminated DACA in September, saying it was an illegal overreach of executive authority that can only come from Congress, which is negotiating with Trump on a compromise immigration plan.
While many politicians use DREAMer and DACA interchangeably, the terms are “not a distinction without a difference,” said House Minority Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md.
The 3.6 million estimate of undocumented immigrants brought to U.S. before their 18th birthday comes from the Migration Policy Institute, a non-profit research group that promotes better understanding of immigration issues. That is roughly a third of all undocumented immigrants in the country and does not include millions of their immediate family members who are U.S. citizens.
I wonder how many people who were OK to one extent or another with allowing 800,000 illegals to stay (and, in short order, become voters – you can bet your bottom dollar on that) will have a different attitude about 3.6 million of them.
I wonder where they cluster geographically. Which states will be affected most. How the eventual vote of these “dreamers” will affect who is in charge of those states.
But most of all, I wonder how it is possible that the disparity of almost 3 MILLION ILLEGALS was not picked up by any mainstream media until now.
My compliments to USA Today for having the honesty to publish this story. And my condolences, in advance for the beating they will take from the folks who absolutely, positively did not want we, the general public, to know about it.

So if we admit the 3.6 million, does that mean with Chain Migration that number will inflate to somewhere around 24 Million?
