My wife (and countless others, of course) just got this email from current Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer:
Arleen, it’s Chuck Schumer.
Against all odds, Democrats have won the majority.
This is a generational remake of the Senate map. So far, we’ve managed to flip seven seats ‑‑ Iowa, Kansas, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas ‑‑ all while defending Michigan, New Hampshire, Georgia, and every other Democratic‑held seat.
And we’re not done yet: Right now, the races in Alaska and Mississippi are still too close to call, and we could expand our new majority.
I have five words for the American people as we head into this new era: Relief is on the way.
“Against all odds”???? This was far from a long shot.
“Relief is on the way”? I wonder if Schumer realizes how likely his new “Democrat” cohorts in the Senate will consider relief to be his removal from leadership status.
More on this as events develop. And develop they will.
