How is Hillary Clinton addressing her husband’s (perfectly justifiable) put-down of #blacklivesmatters disrupters in Philadelphia last week, who continually prevented him from speaking on her behalf?
By putting out a new ad, narrated by Clinton supporter Morgan Freeman, that panders directly to the #blacklivesmatter people, that’s how. Here it is (if you have trouble viewing the video, click here)
Nice. We have:
-Trayvon Martin, who was shot in self-defense while he was bashing George Zimmerman’s head on the sidewalk – complete with the years-old picture of Martin as a cherubic, sweet little tween, instead of the tattooed young adult with the “grille” on his teeth, flashing a gang sign, which is what he had on his facebook page);
Donte Hamilton, a schizophrenic, off his medication, who the police officer claimed had wrestled him, grabbed his nightstick and was pounding him with it;
-Sandra Bland, who – as was her history, based on numerous encounters with police in the past – managed to turn a simple stop for a broken light into an angry confrontation, wound up in jail for it, and apparently committed suicide by hanging there (the motion-activated camera outside her cell showed no activity by police or jail personnel prior to the discovery of her body and there was no sign of any struggle). It turned out that she had tried to commit suicide in the past.
And if that weren’t clear enough, virtually every person with Clinton in the entire ad is Black. Racial pandering, anyone?
The sad part is that, for some people, this overt, pandering kiss-up to #blacklivesmatter, itself a racist hate group, is going to work.
Now: what is Bernie Sanders going to do about it? Get a Black supporter to say he is even more sympathetic to Martin, Hamilton and Bland than she is? How far can this envelope be pushed?
Media have – correctly – treated the Republican presidential race as an absurd circus sideshow.
