Here is the full statement about Senator and about-to-be-replaced Majority Leader Harry Reid, who sustained what is being described as a terrible accident in his home:
“OnThursday, Senator Reid received treatment at University MedicalCenter in Las Vegas for injuries sustained in an accident he sufferedwhile exercising at home in Henderson.
“Apiece of equipment Senator Reid was using to exercise broke, causinghim to fall and break a number of ribs and bones in his face.
“SenatorReid will return to Washington this weekend and be in the officeTuesday as the Senate prepares to reconvene. His doctors expect afull recovery.
“SenatorReid was first brought to St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson byhis security detail. He was then transferred to UMC for furthertesting, where he was admitted overnight as a precaution.”
I am taking on faith that this is an accurate explanation of the damage (which, I have to admit, seems pretty extensive for an exercise accident), and wishing Mr. Reid a fast, full, perfect recovery.
