HANDLING THE MINNESOTA TERRORIST THREAT

Ken Berwitz

Following are the first three paragraphs of Scott Johnson\’s piece for powerlineblog.com, which discusses the Somali community in Minnesota (centered in Minneapolis), the possible existence of terrorist threats from within that community, the Democrat-predominating state government\’s way of handling it, and how it is (or,more exactly, is not) being covered by media.

Minnesota\’s extremely large (and largely Muslim) Somalicommunity presents challenges in a number of respects. It is ahigh-volume consumer of welfare and social services. It raises thethreat of terrorism and support for terrorism. Support for law enforcement toroot out the terrorist threat is conspicuous by its absence. Efforts to rootout the terrorist threat from within the community, ditto. Somali Minnesotanscharged with terrorism related offenses are treated like favorite sons.

“Minnesotamen“ seeking to join ISIS were prominently featured in headlinesaround the country last year when terrorism charges against ten defendants wereunveiled over the course of the year. A wealth of mind-boggling details isfeatured in the criminal complaints and related proceedings against these men,yet much of it has gone unnoticed in the media.

What is to be done? Well, if you\’re a brain-dead MinnesotaDemocrat seeking means of support for a core constituency, money must be theanswer. Thus the program that bears the mind-numbing Obama era euphemism BuildingCommunity Resilience. Under the nominal auspices of United StatesAttorney Andrew Luger, the program has been handed off by the United StatesAttorney to a Minnesota nonprofit called Youthprise. As NPR noted in itsstory on the program, Luger handed the program off to Youthprisewhen the local branch of CAIR complained about his involvement.

I am not going to comment on what you just read.  All I ask is that you use the link, read the entire piece -along with this previous one as well – then draw your own conclusions.

Fair enough?
