GRETA THUNBERG: DAVID HOGG WTH DIFFERENT PLUMBING

From the “who could possibly care about this” department, via an Associated Press article posted at NBC News, we have this:

Climate campaigner Greta Thunberg and other 11 activists will set sail on Sunday afternoon for Gaza on a ship aimed at “breaking Israel’s siege” of the devastated territory, organizers said.

The sailing boat Madleen — operated by activist group Freedom Flotilla Coalition — will embark from the Sicilian port of Catania, in southern Italy.

It will try to reach the shores of the Gaza Strip in an effort to bring in some aid and raise “international awareness” over the ongoing humanitarian crisis, the activists said at a press conference on Sunday, ahead of departure.

“We are doing this because, no matter what odds we are against, we have to keep trying,” Thunberg said, bursting into tears during her speech.

Can someone – anyone – please tell me what, exactly Greta Thunberg’s boat ride to Gaza would accomplish?  To raise international awareness of a situation that has been lead story material all over the world for a year and a half?

And what does she think her presence, along with 11 “activists” (whatever in the world that means) will result in?  Is she expecting a warm reception from hamas?  A thank you note from Israel (which she seems pretty clearly to despise)?

What we have here is Sweden’s version of David Hogg;  a nobody from nowhere with few if any accomplishments other than being someone who media have elevated to “we write about this person all the time” status.  The only difference is her plumbing (this is an assumption on my part).

Enjoy the boat ride, Greta.  And be sure to give a friendly wave to the houthis on the way.
