Jeff Flake (R-AZ), the one Republican “maybe” on the Senate Judiciary Committee, has come out in support of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and will vote to send the Kavanaugh nomination to the full Senate.
Since no Democrat has any intention of doing anything other than defaming Judge Kavanaugh, this will make the final vote, which will be taking place at 1:30 this afternoon, 11 to 10 in favor.
I wonder how many Senate Democrats will recognize how damaging this behavior has been to their party, how much it has mobilized Republicans, and support Kavanaugh when the full vote is taken.
It would not surprise me if there were a few – among Senators up for re-election this year in states Trump won in 2016. And it would not surprise me if there were none.
Either way, unless Susan Collins and Linda Murkowski go south on their party (which seems highly unlikely after yesterday’s testimony), Brett Kavanaugh is going to be our newest Supreme Court Justice.
And if that happens, it means Democrats will have made world class fools of themselves, while irreparably damaging their own reputations, for absolutely no gain.
I hope they’re happy with that. They certainly worked for it.
UPDATE: . Now it is being reported that two anti-Kavanaugh women trapped Flake in an elevator and harangued him for almost 5 minutes before allowing the door close….. With CNN reporters right there, (coincidentally?) to see/hear it all. And that, subsequently, he was accosted by Democrat Senate Judiciary member Chris Coons.
Does this mean Flake is being subjected to aggressive harrasment aimed at forcing him to change his vote? And would he do it?
This gets more insane by the minute.
FURTHER UPDATE:. Flake semi caved. devoted to send Kavanaugh is nomination to the full Senate, but now Demands a week-long FBI probe.
Aprobe into what? I don’t know, since christine blasey ford’s accusation details no place where the alleged attack took place, no date, and every member of the gathering she named says it did not happen at all.
if we had anything remotely approaching an honest media, they would be calling out this insanity immediately and forcefully. tBu we do not, so what you will see is a great deal of sympathy for this impossibly ridiculous demand.
I can only hope that the people of this country understand what they are seeing here, and vote accordingly.
Brett Kavanaugh is going to be our newest Supreme Court Justice.
And as a country we are better off for it.
Every person who has worked with him and the ABA have said he is a decent honorable man with a stellar record.

2. Have the FBI take a look at Ms. Ford’s lie detector test. Why only 2 questions. Maybe rerun the test on her.
3. Did Ms. Ford actually drive to DC from this week?
And also last month for her lie detector test in Maryland on August 9th. (Including a trip back to CA – 3 cross country trips in total).
4. Was she felony lying about needing to construct a second door to her home, so she could escape rape attempts?
The entrance door provided a private entrance for a rental apartment. The permit for its construction was issued in 2008.
