Darline Graham Nordone, Lindsey Graham’s sister, has been named the interim United States Senator from South Carolina.
Her qualifications, other than being Lindsey Graham’s sister? She is a retired teacher with experience in vocational rehabilitation. At quick glance that is all I can find.
Bottom line: Darline Graham Nordone’s real qualification is that she is Lindsey Graham’s sister and, presumably, will vote in the senate the way she believes he would have voted if he were still alive. The end.
My reaction? I don’t like BS appointments like this regardless of which party they emanate from. I’m sure Ms. Nordone is a very nice person and very sincere. But those are not qualifiations for the senate and she should not have been her brother’s replacement.
If South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster acted responsibly, he would have appointed a seasoned, knowledgeable replacement who could credibly be run as Graham’s replacement in November. Shame on him for not doing so.
