BENGHAZI – WHEN DID PRESIDENT OBAMA KNOW?

We have been waiting a year and a half to find out when the Obama white house knew what really happened in Benghazi.

And tomorrow may be the day.

Excerpted from Gus Taylor\’s article in today\’s Washington Times:

Beforethe Obama administration gave an inaccurate narrative on nationaltelevision that the Benghazi attacksgrew from an anti-American protest, the CIA\’sstation chief in Libyapointedly told his superiors in Washington that no such demonstrationoccurred, documents and interviews with current and formerintelligence officials show.

Theattack was “not an escalation of protests,” the stationchief wrote to then-Deputy CIADirector MichaelJ. Morell in an email dated Sept. 15, 2012 – a full daybefore the White Housesent SusanE. Rice to several Sunday talk shows to disseminate talkingpoints claiming that the Benghazi attack began as a protest over ananti-Islam video.

Thatthe talking points used by Mrs.Rice, who was then U.S. ambassador to the UnitedNations, were written by a CIAthat ignored the assessment by its own station chief inside Libya, has emerged as one of the major bones of contention in the nearly twoyears of political fireworks and congressional investigations intothe Benghazi attack.

Whathas never been made public is whether Mr.Morell and others at the CIAexplicitly shared the station chief\’s assessment with the White Houseor StateDepartment.

That Susan Rice went on “several Sunday talk shows” (five of them, to be exact) and lied to our faces is a fact.  That Hillary Clinton angrily asked us what difference it made one way or the other is a fact.

Now, armed with the facts that Rice lied and Clinton gave us little more than a repulsive hissy-fit, maybe we can find out whether, in addition to what was in front of their eyes, they had the CIA assessment as well.  And whether mainstream media will bother to report it.

Personally, I\’m moderately hopeful about the first…but highly skeptical about the second.
