How scared is the left over Benghazi?
Well, yesterday we had the left wing drone, Eleanor Clift, telling The McLaughlin Group that Libya Ambassador Chris Stevens was not killed by terrorists, he died of smoke inhalation.
I kid you not, she actually said that.
Here is the relevant transcript to prove it – including the incredulous reactions of other panel members:
ELEANORCLIFT: I would like to point out Ambassador Stevens was not murdered.He died of smoke inhalation in the safe room in that CIAinstallation.
SUSAN FERRECHIO: I don\’t think that\’s a fact,Eleanor.
CLIFT: I think that is a fact.
FERRECHIO: I\’veheard a drastically different story from people who are also in theknow about that. So, I don\’t think it is —
PAT BUCHANAN: Itwas a terrorist attack, Eleanor. He was murdered in a terroristattack.
CLIFT: It was an opportunistic terrorist attack thatgrew out of that video.
BUCHANAN: The video had nothing to dowith it.
CLIFT: There were demonstrations across the world.
BUCHANAN: Not in Benghazi. There was no video related to it at all.
Incredible.
The terrorist attack, which involved torching the Benghazi facility, was not the cause of Ambassador Stevens\’ death, it was just a case of smoke inhalation.
That is roughly the equivalent of saying that a someone who was burned at the stake died of heat prostration.
That Eleanor Clift is a ridiculous buffoon who has not had a non-doctrinaire thought since the Truman era is hardly news. But the ridiculousness of her claim demonstrates just how far some on the left will go to pretend, even at the cost of their own credibility, that there is nothing to see, nothing to investigate, no one in the administration to blame – certainly not Saint Hillary The Accomplishmentless.
Fasten your seat belts, political junkies. There is little doubt that there will be more just like this in the near future.
