There are reports circulating that Dr. Ben Carson\’s presidential campaign, whatever there is of it, is disintegrating. Here\’s one, in the (admittedly anti-Carson) Washington Post.
I hope so.
We have two grandchildren, and – God forbid a million times over – if one of them needed the services and talent of a brilliant pediatric neurosurgeon, I would beg Dr. Carson to be the one. That is his expertise, and he is renowned for it.
But being a brilliant pediatric neurosurgeon has nothing to do with being a President.
Ben Carson may wow the rightward-most elements of the Republican Party, but the truth is that he has no qualifications for this office and, frankly, is making a fool of himself by running. I won\’t go into the issues I think he is wrong about, because I would say this regardless of whether I agreed or disagreed with his positions on issues.
Based on the Washington Post article, it does not appear that Dr. Carson has any intention of ending his campaign…yet. I hope that changes soon.
