The following is an exchange which took place on Tuesday, between Jake Tapper on his CNN show, “The Lead”, and Dr. Benjamin Carson, the renowned pediatric neurosurgeon who is also a Republican candidate for President:
JAKE TAPPER: “Doesn\’t (Carson\’s claim that a large number of Planned Parenthood locations are in minority areas)…make the argument that they would make which is, the services we\’re talking about, forget abortion for a second, the services we\’re talking about are not available everywhere and that\’s where minorities and people who are lower income get mammograms and treatment for STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) and birth control, etc.?”
BENJAMIN CARSON: “I thought that they were supposed be able to get all those things based on ObamaCare. Why do we need Planned Parenthood?”
In that single exchange, in those few words, Dr. Carson not only answered Mr. Tapper decisively, but gave us a reason to question why the Obama administration is handing over a half BILLION dollars in tax money to Planned Parenthood every year ($528 million last year alone).
-If Planned Parenthood wants to operate a chain of abortion mills, it has a right to do so.
-If Planned Parenthood wants to offer a range of women\’s health services, it has a right to do so.
-But if ObamaCare exists, in no small part, so that women, regardless of their means, can get women\’s health services, then what the eff are we handing this money to Planned Parenthood for?
-And if ObamaCare is not providing these services, or is providing them so poorly that Planned Parenthood has to be there, then what do we need ObamaCare for?
Thank, you, Dr. Carson, for making this so clear. How I wish people would think long and hard about the point you made.
