Earlier today I blogged about Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) telling the world he would leave the Democrat Party if it became the anti-Israel party.
Well, something happened today that just might tell him what to do in that regard.
There was a floor vote, in the form of an amendment to the 2027 State Department Appropriations bill, on whether to cut off all aid to Israel.
It was called by outgoing Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), a Trump-hating Republican who – presumably because of his very public hatred of Trump and the fact that he voted against so much of the Trump-endorsed agenda – lost his primary this year and will no longer represent Kentucky’s 4th district.
So how did the vote go? This way:
-Republican-wise, with the lone exception of Massie, every Republican voted to continue aid to Israel. 216 – 1 in favor.
-Democrat-wise, of the 211 votes cast, 10 Democrats voted “present”, 98 voted to continue aid to Israel…and 103 Democrats voted to cut Israel off.
In other words, if the Democrat Party had its way, Israel would have been completely cut off. If it weren’t for the Republicans, we would be treating Israel exactly the way we treat Iran.
Are you paying attention, Senator Fetterman?
