Would you agree that bad news about ObamaCare – which not one Republican senator voted to enact – would be bad news for Democrats in this midterm election year?
If so, would you agree that if network news shows had bad news about ObamaCare and did not report it, their abdication of journalistic integrity would be good news for Democrats?
With the above in mind, please note that as many as hundreds of thousands of people are going to lose their insurance at the end of the year because it is not in compliance with ObamaCare – and that federal law requires they be notified no less than 60 days in advance. This means notification must be provided between now and November 2; just in time for it to sink in before they head to the polls.
When I wrote about this yesterday, I mentioned that I expected President Obama to try and prevent these notifications from being sent.
My exact words: “I await Mr. Obama\’s attempt – probably successful, given the fact that so much of what passes for mainstream media will look the other way on his behalf – to make good and sure those notices do not go out when federal law says they must.”
That\’s a pretty cynical judgment about President Obama. And about media. Could it possibly be right?
From Joseph Rossell\’s piece at newsbusters.org (bold print is mine):
Accordingto Fox News and several print media outlets tens of thousands tohundreds of thousands of people are about to be notified that theirhealth insurance policies are being cancelled, thanks to Obamacare. That could mean bad news for liberals just weeks before 2014 midtermelections, except the broadcast networks have refused to report it.ABC, CBS and NBC news programs failed to mention the latest wave ofpolicy cancellations as of Oct. 9. Fox News Channel’s chiefnational correspondent Jim Angle reported that because of Obamacare, hundreds of thousands of individuals will be notified sometime nolater than Nov. 1, that they are losing their health insurance.
Asking again: could it possibly be right?
Sorry for asking a question that has already answered itself.
And doubly sorry that what passes for broadcast media are so degraded that this is the answer.
