Protecting antifa by looking you in the eye and telling you it doesn’t exist. This is how far left the Democrat Party has veered.
Within the past week – over the weekend maybe – I saw a feature on Fox News (where did you expect to see this? On CNN or MSNBC?) showing Democrat after Democrat telling us that there is no such thing as antifa. Just the way they keep telling us that Donald Trump is voiding Democracy by functioning as President (more on that in my next blog).
They are lying.
John Hinderaker, writing for powerlineblog.com, has just published a blog titled “Who Funds Antifa”, that brings this across about as well as it could be done. Here is his key segment:
Democrats assert, absurdly, that Antifa doesn’t really exist–it is just an idea! But ideas don’t organize riots, every night for three months or more. Ideas don’t compensate the people who participate in those riots, or bail them out of jail, or pay for their signs or their plane tickets. There is a great deal of money behind the American Left, and some of it is flowing to Antifa, the militant arm of the Democratic Party, much as the Ku Klux Klan was the militant arm of the Democratic Party during the latter decades of the 19th century.
There may be no formal head office; no executive hierarchy. But antifa absolutely does exist. And the amount of funding required to enable its existence in the form described above is enormous.
Mr. Hinderaker goes on to say that it appears the FBI, under Kash Patel, is serious about investigating who is running this organization, who is funding it and what their true motivations are.
The sooner the better.
Now let’s see which Democrats are front and center in trying to thwart this investigation – thus suggesting that they are in sympathy with antifa and/or beholden to the organization in some way.
I’ll bet you can name a few right now. I know I can.
