The death toll from two car bombs in Baghdad has gone up to 80, Iraqi officials said.
The first explosion occurred in a busy commercial street in the central neighborhood of Karrada, killing 79 people and wounding 133 others, police said.
Firefighting crews rescued injured and trapped people in adjacent buildings.
The second bomb exploded in an outdoor market in the Shaab neighborhood of southeastern Baghdad, killing one and wounding five, police said.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the Karrada attack in a statement posted on Twitter. The group said it was targeting Shiite neighborhoods. Karrada and Shaab are predominately Shiite.
Obama and Hillary -supporting democrats can try to dance around this all they want. But the reality is that Barack Obama, in honoring a troop pullout that was negotiated by President Bush before he left office, Mr. Obama – who was nice enough to take full credit for what Bush negotiated – did not leave a sufficient residual force there.
As a consequence of Barack Obama’s decision, radical Islamists, led by ISIS – which President Obama derided as nothing more than a “jayvee squad’ two years ago and allowed to grow to the international monster it now is – currently run something like a third of the entire country. And, as seen yesterday (only the latest of many examples), ISIS has no problem killing people who do not adhere to its version of Islam with gleeful abandon.
Will President Obama call THIS attack an example of radical Islamist terrorism? Or will he come up with another name for it, like he has for every other such act everywhere else in the world, including the United States?
And will he DO something about it? Maybe more than shooting drones to kill this “leader” and that “leader” from the air, which, it is eminently clear, is doing virtually nothing to stop ISIS’s progress?
Yeah, right. That’s ever going to happen.
I count the seconds until this man is out of office.
