Team, I just had my first coffee of the day ☝🏼
It’s Abdul El-Sayed, Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Michigan. Coffee is more than a hobby for me – it’s a love affair.
I roast my beans at home, grind them fresh, and pull the shot myself. I froth, I pour, and every once in a while I manage some half-decent latte art (see above).
Why so much effort? Because when something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.
Same goes for this campaign: no shortcuts, no corporate PAC money. Just hard work and the guts to take on corporate greed and the billionaires who profit from it.
Right now those billionaires and the GOP Super PACs are spending millions to prop up Trump’s handpicked far-right puppet, MAGA Mike Rogers.
Winning this race could determine whether we flip the Senate in November. That’s why I have to ask:
That is self-avowed socialist abdul el-sayed’s message to the voters. Not one word about policy. Zip. Zero.
Just the same tired “the other side are billionaires and the far right” mantra. But not a word about the billionaires (think soros, Reid Hoffman, etc.) and the far leftists, very much including el-sayed, of course.
Voters, presumably, are supposed to forget that el-sayed is, in fact, the for-real left wing counterpart of what he accuses his opponent of being. Voters, presumably are supposed to see him a benign chap who makes his own coffee (isn’t that special??), not a socialist, Israel-hating, Jew-hating pal of hasan piker – the guy who said we deserved 9/11 (and then, 100% unconvincingly, tried to claim he didn’t really mean it that way, even though he said it in so many words).
Would you fall for this? Would you take the Democrat Socialists of America-endorsed abdul el-sayed, who no one can get a straight answer out of about any of his previous, on-the-record, far-left/socialist positions, as just a good guy who likes homemade coffee and isn’t really far left, just an antidote to the far right?
If so, I have a good psychiatrist you need to visit. Often.
