Here is the latest example of Academic Brownshirts on parade, excerpted from Alec Dent\’s article at

The Muslim StudentAssociation at San Diego State University is demanding that administratorscombat Islamophobia by developing a “zero tolerance policy explicitly forIslamophobic speech and actions.”

The demands, modeled after similar ones issued by black student associations at campusesacross the nation, were lodged after a female Muslim student was allegedlyattacked by a white man in a campus parking lot on the afternoon of Nov. 19,about a week after the Paris terrorist attacks, which killed 130 people.

At SDSU, despitereports that several witnesses stood by and did nothing as the attacker grabbedthe woman’s hijab, as well as a police sketch of the alleged attacker, a policeinvestigation could not identify a suspect, according tothe San Diego Union Tribune.

They demanded that theuniversity adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward “Islamophobic speech,” mandatory bystander training, develop more courses on Islam, and increasefunding for The Center for Intercultural Relations. Moreover, they demandedthat “the SDSU administration address, alleviate, and eliminate systems ofoppression that disproportionately target students of color, womyn, and allmarginalized students on campus.”

Translation:  A claim that one student was attacked by a White man – one whom no one could identify, which, given the number of race incidents on campus that turn out to be self-serving hoaxes, should raise about 10,000 red flags – the Muslim Student Association demands that free speech be subordinated to “a zero tolerance policy explicitly for Islamophobic speech and actions”.

Who do you suppose is going to decide what is and isn\’t Islamophobic..besides these fascistic brownshirt wannabes.

Oh, and let\’s not forget more Islamic courses and more funding for the center they like….and elimination of “systems of oppression”, which are not specified, but presumably will be dictated by the Muslim Student Association.

And don\’t you love that use of the non-word “womyn” (which eliminates the “men” part of the word)?  How delightfully PC.

This is another of the seemingly countless examples of Academic Brownshirts on parade – intent on molding the college/university experience to their own parochial view of how things should be and which thoughts are/are not acceptable.

Academic Brownshirts:  I have to admit it is harder and harder not to remove that second “r”.
