With about 55% of the vote counted, Bernie Sanders is beating Hillary Clinton by about 6%, and looks very likely to win Indiana. For all the good it is going to do him.
Looking at the big picture, that is a little like losing all night at the high-stakes table, then putting $5 down on roulette and hitting the number. Yeah, you won. But what of it?
Sanders never had a chance. The deck was stacked too much against him. But the fact that he has put up this much of a fight, and continues to do so, is a testament to his staying power – and to how weak a candidate Hillary Clinton is.
Bernie Sanders should never have even gotten out of the starting gate, and he’s still there at the far turn. Losing, that’s true, but still running hard.
Trump vs. Clinton? How ugly do you figure this is going to get?
