In 2024, Tesla sold 633,000 vehicles in the United States.
In 2023 – the last full year before anyone had a reason to associate Elon Musk with Donald Trump – Tesla sold 655,000 vehicles in the United States. In 2022 the number was 355,000 and in 2021 it was 234,000
That is a total of 1,8770,000 vehicles sold over the four year span.
Elon Musk declared his support for Donald Trump on July 13, 2024. Let’s estimate that about half the cars sold in 2024 – about 317,000 – were sold afterwards.
Do the math and you will therefore find that, of the 1,877,000 Teslas sold over the past four years, about 1,560,000 – 83%, or about 5 out of every 6 – were sold to people who had no idea whatsoever that Elon Musk had anything to do with Donald Trump.
This means that every time a Tesla terrorist keys a one of these vehicles, or spray paints “nazi”, or an anti-Trump comment on it, there is a 5 in 6 chance that the car they are damaging was bought by someone with absolutely no idea of this association…
…and that’s before we get to the fact that an unknown percentage of the rest (I’m betting a majority) didn’t take this into consideration when buying their Tesla.
So congratulations to you. Congratulations for demonstrating that, even when you think you are making a statement of some kind, you aren’t. What you are doing is acting like a bunch of mindless, hate-filled imbeciles who are intolerant of anyone’s political opinions but your own. And – the irony is rich here – you are taking it out on people who might well share your political opinions.
May every one of you be caught, tried, convicted and jailed.
