A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOL: ZOHRAN MAMDANI VERSION

“A Day In The Life Of A Fool” – is the theme song from the movie, “Black Orpheus”.  Frank Sinatra’s version is especially poignant.

As music it is magnificent.  But when we’re talking about a day in the life of newly elected New York City Mayor zohran mamdani, the fact that he is acting like a fool is not magnificent at all.  It is pathetic.

From an article at yahoo.com:

Mayor Zohran Mamdani signed a new executive order on the city’s sanctuary laws in an effort to strengthen protections for immigrant New Yorkers, and the public safety of all New Yorkers.

The mayor announced the executive order Friday morning at an interfaith breakfast.

“If faith offers us the moral compass to stand alongside the stranger, government can provide the resources,” Mamdani said. “Let us create a new expectation of City Hall, where power is wielded to love, to embrace and to protect. We will stand with the stranger today, tomorrow and all the days that are still to come.”

The executive order will implement a review of agency policies to ensure compliance.

The mayor will also create a new task force to handle matters pertaining to ICE and immigration.

The executive order includes the following:

A prohibition on ICE entering NYC Property without a judicial warrant; this includes schools, shelters, and hospitals, among others

Enhancement of privacy protections to avoid New Yorkers’ private data from being unlawfully accessed by the federal government

A public safety audit report submitted to the NYC Mayor to ensure essential NYC agencies comply with City laws

The creation of an interagency committee to coordinate policy in the event of a major crisis

New York Immigration Coalition applauded the executive order.

“Mayor Mamdani’s announcement recognizes his responsibility to defend all residents from abusive immigration enforcement, and our moral obligation to protect our immigrant neighbors from these attacks,” said Murad Awawdeh, President and CEO of the New York Immigration Coalition.

A quick note to New York City’s new Mayor:  There is such a thing as Article VI, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, commonly known as the “Supremacy Clause”.  Perhaps you’ve heard of it (I’m referencing both the clause and the Constitution, since I’m not 100% sure mamdani is familiar with either of them).

Here’s what it says:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

Since this seems to be a tough one for you, let me translate:  it says that federal law supersedes state or local law.  Therefore if Immigration and Customs Enforcement – ICE – is acting within federal law, your “executive order” has roughly the same value as used toilet paper.  Got that, zohran?

Did New York City voters really elect this guy their Mayor?  Yikes.
