SENATOR OSSOFF: “DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO” ON VOTER ID

Senator John Ossoff (D-GA) is up for re-election this November.

Given that Georgia voted for Donald Trump in last year’s presidential election, it would be fair to believe that his is not a safe seat.

So what do you think it tells Georgia’s voters when Ossoff – like most Democrats – is adamantly against there being an ID requirement for voting…but insists on one when it comes to his own political events?

From Bradley Jaye’s article at breitbart.com:

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) insists on security when he interacts with the American public but not when Americans cast their ballots.

The Georgia senator is requiring government-issued identification for members of the public to attend his election rally Saturday while opposing similar requirements to cast a ballot in elections.

Ossoff has emerged as one of the strongest fighters against election security measures, not only opposing the SAVE Act to require government-issued identification verification to vote but even introducing legislation to enshrine into laws the right to vote without proving one’s identity. His bill, the misleadingly labeled Right to Vote Act, would make it harder for states to ensure election integrity by implementing voter ID.

“Jon Ossoff is about to vote against the SAVE Act, but is requiring a government-issued ID to get into his rally in Atlanta tomorrow,” a campaign account for Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA), a candidate in the Republican primary to take on Ossoff, posted Friday. “There should be more security in American elections than there is to listen to Jon Ossoff’s lies.”

The article goes on to make additional points, but you get the idea.

See, security is very important to Senator Ossoff…at his own campaign rallies.  But when it comes to voting?  The honesty of elections?  As they say in Brooklyn, “fuhgeddaboudit”. How dare you!!!

To me, there is exactly one reason that Democrats would be against serious safeguards to insure that a) only citizens vote in elections, and b) they must demonstrate they are who they say they are in order to vote.

And – message to Chuck Shumer – the reason is NOT to insure that Black people are able to vote; not when every poll I’ve seen shows that a large majority of Black voters favor Voter ID. (And that is before we discuss what an overt insult it is to tell Black people they are somehow less capable of providing Voter ID than non-Blacks are).

No, the one and only reason for being against this legislation is to make it easier for voter fraud to take place.

And, given that virtually all opposition to SAVE act and Voter ID is among Democrats, what does that tell you about Democrats’ interest in making voter fraud easier to accomplish?

Sometimes two plus two really does equal four.  And this is one of those times.

Disagree?  Explain why.  I’m listening….
