A COLLEGE EVENT THE kkk WOULD HEARTILY APPROVE

Wow.  Finally a college event the kkk would be completely in favor of.  And in California, too.

From Alex Sweet’s article at California’s Claremont College website:

Tomorrow night, Scripps College will be hosting a pool party (click here for archived event) at the Sallie Tiernan Field House pool that only non-white people will be allowed to attend.

Organized by Scripps’s Latinx group “Cafe con Leche”, the event was announced via Facebook (click here for archived description) under the claim of being the “first ever POC [person of color] pool party in [Clare]mont”.

The three-hour use of Scripps’ Sallie Tiernan House Pool is aimed at the creation of “a safe space for 5C students that identify as POC to come together and build community,” and will be open to only students identifying as POC attending the Claremont Colleges, a consortium which also includes Pomona College, Claremont McKenna College, Pitzer College, and Harvey Mudd College. The event is set to take place between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM, after the pool’s normal hours of operation.

This, readers, is exactly what warms the cockles of every racist’s heart.

See, if Black people make it clear that they avidly favor segregation, White people can then….

….you can finish that one yourself.

Scripps, and the other component colleges of this intellectual cesspool (yes, I know their academic standards are high, but this makes them a cesspool nonetheless) apparently cannot grasp the simple concept, stated in this blog over and over again, that you cannot fight racism by creating more of it.

And when they accept, and accede to, overt racism on the part of one group, they implicitly do so on the part of other groups as well.

What will Scripps do if/when, at some point in the near future, a group of White students demands use of that same facility to be “safe” from Black students?  Tell them it’s OK for Blacks but not them?  Specifically discriminate based on race?

Welcome to the klan, Scripps.  And Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer College, and Harvey Mudd.

Quite a klavern you’ve self-created.  I hope you’re proud of it.
