It has happened again.
At a “town hall” event, a child came up to ask a question of Hillary Clinton, which she, of course, hit out of the park….
….because, with about 99.999% certainty, I am sure it was a staged event.
I can\’t say this with 100% certainty. But how many times does it have to happen before you know?
In this set-up, a boy, looking to be about 13, (you can see the video here), with Ms. Clinton\’s arm around him, looked down at his notes and read the following question:
Reading from acard, the boy said, “When you become president, what is your plan to connectmental health problems and guns to make sure that me, my brothers, and myfriends are safe from violence at school?”
Ms. Clinton\’s answer? “I\’m going to do everything I can do and I\’m not going to stop trying.”
Boom. Grand slam home run. Right out of the park. And easy as pie, when you\’re working from a script.
By contrast, Donald Trump, like him or don\’t, does not work from a predetermined script. He gets in front of massive crowds and just talks.
Even when what he says is baloney, even when it is different from what he said last week, it comes across as spontaneous. As unrehearsed. As unscripted. In other words, as REAL.
That is why Trump, who has no business being anywhere near a viable candidate for the presidency, is still flying high…long after many people, me very much included, assumed he\’d be over and done with.
The bottom line is that there are there people – loads of them – who react enthusiastically well to Donald Trump\’s spontaneous bluster?
Just as there are loads of people who react similarly to Ms. Clinton\’s scripted dog and pony show.
It\’s going to be an interesting January………
