I was watching The Today Show this morning, during a discussion of what effect Donald Trump\’s invocation of Bill Clinton\’s sex life might have on her campaign. And again (this is not the first time by a long shot). I heard what apparently is going to be mainstream media\’s general party line, which is that it can\’t hurt Hillary because that was a long time ago, and people like Bill Clinton and people were very happy with his presidency.
As I have pointed out in several blogs already, I disagree with their assessment. But, this time I thought I would add the words of Paul Jones, one of the women who not only accused Bill Clinton of molestation, but whom he agreed to pay an $850,000 settlement too, along with loss of his law license.
“…how dare her. Youknow what? She don\’t care nothing about women. Because if she did she wouldbelieve what I had to say. She would believe what the other women had to say.”
“It\’s really a sad, sad day if Hillary becomespresident, because she has allowed her husband to get by with this type ofstuff. Why does he have a right to be back in the White House, thepeople\’s house?”
“Why is he allowedto be back there with the track record that he has and his wife and the lyingthat she does and how she tried to discredit all of these women that herhusband abused and sexually harassed?”
“(Hillary Clintonis) such a liar. And she\’s so two faced. I never once was contacted by her. Notone time and apologized about what her husband did to me.”
“She needs to do a public apology or something or other (for) all the women who have come out and said publicly what her husband did to them”.
Maybe this would be a good time to remind you that Paula Jones was no Clinton antagonist. She was a Democrat whom then-Governor of Arkansas Clinton came in contact in the course of his duties.
To my knowledge, every other woman who has come forth to either acknowledge consensual sex with Mr. Clinton or accuse him of molestation and rape, have also been Democrats – most of whom were working for his office or for one of his election campaigns at the time.
In other words, Bill Clinton has rich history of using his status and power to hit on women who work for him. Women with no power, whom he could have fired at will (which, of course, includes Monica Lewinsky).
These facts, applied to anyone else, would clearly establish him as an unscrupulous sexual predator.
So tell me: how can Hillary Clinton, in the midst of running a campaign top-heavy with women\’s rights issues and highly critical of what she claims is a Republican “War On Women”, send Hubby Bubba out to campaign for her….after spending all these years either ignoring, or attacking, every one of his accusers?
Given the state of what passes for our mainstream media these days, apparently Ms. Clinton thinks she can do just that.
We can only hope that, this time, finally, enough so-called “journalists” will show the integrity to make sure voters are aware of what has actually happened and what it means.
I\’m cautiously hopeful…..but, history taken into account, not especially optimistic.
