Today\’s quote comes from the ever-entertaining, if rarely watched. hard-left, racially tuned-up Melissa Harris-Perry, who hosts a weekend show on (where else?) MSNBC.
In discussing the need for gun control, this is what Ms. Perry had to say when a guest pointed out that the biggest problem was illegally rather than legally obtained guns:
“Alot of people shoot their wives with perfectly legal guns, so they wouldn\’t ifthey did not have them.”
Now there\’s a great argument for taking guns from the people who own themlegally. A lot of “people” (I\’m sort of assuming this is an attack on men) shoot their wives with perfectly legal guns, which they could not do if they didn\’t own any. So no one at all should have any.
Allow me to take that quote and apply it to a few other situations:
“A lot of people stab their wives with perfectly legal knives, so they wouldn\’t if they did not have them.”“A lot of people run over their wives with perfectly legal cars, so they wouldn\’t if they did not have them.”“A lot of people strangle their wives with perfectly legal ropes, so they wouldn\’t if they did not have them.”
Since Ms. Harris-Perry seems to think instrument being used, rather than the person doing the killing, is at fault, wouldn\’t she be against knives, cars and ropes too?
Sometimes I wonder if that is a changed name, and she\’s really Melissa Horse\’sAss-Perry.
Well, she may not be very smart, but there is enough entertainment value to award her Quote Of The Day honors. I\’ll bet she\’s pleased as punch…. Oh, wait: a lot of people punch their wives with perfectly legal fists, which they make with perfectly legal hands, so they wouldn\’t if……….
