SO I’M WATCHING “ABC WORLD NEWS TONIGHT” LAST NIGHT…

…and it is presenting a report on the newly-declassified documents, which President Trump and his people claim to show that then-President Barack Obama manufactured intel to “prove” Russia colluded with Trump to help him win the presidency in 2016.

This is a news show.  It is supposed to be an exercise in objective journalism.

But the above-mentioned “news” report – without any explanation of why, or evidence to back it up – referred to Trump’s charges as “baseless” and “false”.  This is not my interpretation of what the report said, those are the actual words that were used.

Can someone explain to me how a news broadcast can claim to be objective, and say this?  How it it doesn’t say “allegedly baseless” or “allegedly false” but, instead, states “baseless” and “false” as if this were proven and not open to any other conclusion?

The answer is that it cannot.  This was NOT a news report, it was an editorial position that was presented as a news report.  And one (surprise, surprise) which benefits Democrats/takes a shot at Trump.

ABC News is shamed by its disgraceful abdication of journalistic objectivity…not, I suspect, that it cares: if it did, the report could never have been worded this way.

And ABC is far, far from the only media venue doing this….as will be discussed in my next blog.
