Mainstream media, at least for the past week or so, have their latest “we got him” story about Donald Trump. There has been non-stop coverage of “The Epstein Saga”, “The Epstein Scandal”, and probably a few other varieties of the media meme assuring us that Trump is on the cusp of getting nailed but good.
If you watch major network news or read newspapers I have no doubt you’ve seen various incarnations of this “story”. Assuming I’m correct, I have a question for you:
What is Trump being accused of?
Take your time. Think about it. Please come up with as much of an answer as you can, with all the details media have provided.
Now: what have you got?
Well, let’s see.
-There is the claim that on epstein’s 50th birthday (that would have been 2003) a bunch of people sent him happy birthday cards, some with edgy/bawdy messages, and that Trump was one of them. Trump is alleged to have sent a card with a drawing of the outline of a shapely woman (it was well-known that epstein – at that time the toast of the with-it, cutting-edge trendy Manhattan set, was a big time ladies’ man). Trump denies sending such a card and no one has produced either the card itself or a picture of it.
-There is the claim that Trump was palsy-walsy with epstein at one time. This is demonstrably true. There is video of them yukking it up together. But that was from almost 30 years ago, when there was video of just about anyone who was anyone doing the same with epstein. And it was long before he was accused of any illegal activity, let alone convicted and jailed for it.
-There is the claim that Trump took a number of flights on planes owned by epstein (7 according to flight logs). But that, too, was long before epstein was in any legal trouble (in the 1990’s), his wife and children were on most or all of the flights, and none of them were to epstein’s “underage sex” private island. (By comparison, it should be pointed out that, from 2001 to 2003, Bill Clinton took 26 flights on Epstein’s planes, including a number in which his security detail was specifically told not to come along).
There you go. That’s it.
Let me end by using a word, derived from the yiddish “bobkes”, which you sometimes hear for, er “stories” like the Trump/epstein scandal/saga. The word is, “bupkis”. It is an adjective that describes something of absolutely no value/completely worthless.
And unless/until they come up with something more, the Trump/epstein “story” is just that. Bupkis.
But you can count on our wonderful, “neutral”, mainstream media to keep featuring it as long as they can. It may not have any substance, but it’s great cover for Obama/Biden/Democrats, isn’t it?
