Why do I ask this question?
Here are a few reasons from just this week:
-You have Senator Chris Van Hollen running down to El Salvador on behalf of kilmar abrego garcia, an apparent MS-13 gang member and wife beater. He claims it’s not for the “man” himself, but for the rule of law. This of course, leads to the question of why millions of illegals like garcia flouted federal law by coming across our border for years and there wasn’t a peep out of Van Hollen.
-You have DNC Vice Chair David Hogg threatening to try and unseat dozens of moderate Democrats for the crime of not being far left enough; a threat which, having been reamed from within the party, he is now backtracking on.
(FYI: to me, David Hogg is a serial loser who gained fame by claiming to be a “Parkland survivor”, though he was never actually in the line of fire, and then failed at everything he has tried to do or be since. Why Democrats would put this nothingburger in a significant position of power is true mystery to me.)
-You have New York Attorney General and obsessive anti-Trump crusader Letitia James turning out to have committed civil fraud on multiple occassions to cheat the government out of money. She did so by classifying a five-unit building she owned as four or, according to at least one account, even less to save on tax assessments…and by buying a residence in Virginia with her father – who she claimed was her husband! – which, again to save on tax assessments, she declared as her principal residence; which, not incidentally, disqualifies her as Attorney General, since the New York AG, by law, must live within the state.
Add these to the ongoing fact that, based on public opinion polls, Democrats are on the wrong side of border security, the Israel/hamas conflict and the transgender boys-competing-against-girls issue (among others), and what do you have?
You have a party that is ripping at the seams. Or worse,
Can it be turned around? Yes, it can. But do I see anything Democrats are doing that would even begin to accomplish this? Nope.
Let me put it this way: Democrats better hope that President Trump helps them out by stupidly shooting his uncontrolled and uncontrollable mouth off a few more times (always a serious possibility) and deflecting attention away from them. Because they sure aren’t doing anything to help themselves.
