#BLACKLIVESMATTER: HOW COMPLETELY DOES IT OWN THE DEMOCRAT PARTY?

Ken Berwitz

It is a statement about the current quality of today\’s Democrat Party that its major leaders and even its (currently) most likely Presidential candidate have embraced the racist hate group calling itself #blacklivesmatter.

But apparently, it is not enough to simply endorse a group which screams about the death of thugs like michael brown and freddie gray while ignoring the vast majority of other Black deaths (i.e. Black deaths which cannot be used politically – virtually all of them – are irrelevant), marches in the street advocating the death of police officers, and mounts protests that all too often turn into looting/rioting/arson sprees.

Now, on the heels of Democrats capitulating to #blacklivesmatter, there are demands that the party run a debate which ignores all other issues, and deals exclusively with race – no doubt from the “perspective” it brings to the table.

Excerpted from Michael Schaus\’ article at bizpacreview.com:

The Black Lives Matter crowd apparently doesn\’t feel like Democrats are pandering to them quite often enough.

The official website for the #BlackLivesMatter movement posted an online petition on Tuesday, demanding that Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz organize a debate focused entirely on racial issues.

Calling for more Democratic debates in general, the petition argues that “limiting the number of debates unfairly privileges some candidates over others.” Wasserman Schultz, however, has already rejected the idea of expanding the debate schedule, saying candidates will have plenty of other opportunities to engage with voters.

But it\’s not just the number of debates that concerns the Black Lives Matter folks, they want an entire event catered to their race-obsessed message.

Personally, I don\’t think this is going to happen.

Even Debbie Wasserman Schultz – I think – is not so far gone that she would OK an entire debate dedicated to the demands of a racist hate group.  Even she – I think – would be fearful that it would generate demands for additional dedicated debates on other people\’s ideas of the major issues of the day, like for example foreign policy, or the debt crisis, or the disastrous changeover to a part-time work society we have experienced under her God, Barack Obama, etc.

But, then again, a month or two ago I would have said the same thing about Democrats embracing #blacklivesmatter.  And look where we are.

I wonder if any of the Democrat operatives who, no doubt, were involved in Hillary Clinton\’s decision to overtly support “blacklivesmatter” have considered the fact that there is virtually no upside (Democrats get over 90% of the Black vote with or without it), but a huge downside, in that people – certainly among non-Blacks, but including a segment of Blacks who are repulsed by #blacklivesmatter as well – will hold it against her in a general election.

And I wonder if the Republican Party understands what an issue it has been handed.  That – for the same reasons listed in the previous paragraph – if it strongly speaks out against #blacklivesmatter and its Democrat support, there is virtually no downside, but a huge upside.

Are Democrats really be so tone-deaf that they don\’t see this?  Can Republicans really be so obtuse that they can\’t see this?

Uh….yep and yep.

Let\’s see which way things go.  And don\’t expect to be impressed.
