WHY I CALL MAINSTREAM MEDIA PARTISAN (CONT.)

Why do I so often attack our mainstream media as being partisan?

Case in point:  Yesterday, on ABC News\’s “This Week” show, there was a report by Jonathan Karl which gave us this startling piece of information – information which could literally change the course of the 2016 election:

But in the most intriguing new development, Platte River Networks, the Colorado company that set up Clilnton\’s server, told ABC News it\’s highly likely that a full backup of the server was made, meaning those thousands of emails she deleted may still exist.  The company says it\’s cooperating with the FBI.

(Want to hear this with your own ears?  Just click here and it will be at the 1:30 mark.)

What does this mean?  It means that: if that full backup does exist, the full range of Ms. Clinton\’s emails can be scrutinized.

-If the emails show that she was anywhere near telling the truth, it can exonerate her – which would almost certainly give a major boost to Clinton\’s poll ratings, especially the honesty/trustworthy ratings, and intuitively make other questionable comments of hers more believable.  Great news for Hillary, great news for Democrats.

-But if it comes out that she was lying, that she had no problem at all discussing classified information on an unsecure server, and if there were emails with inculpatory information about Benghazi, which showed her to be either incompetent, indifferent or both on the 9/11/12 massacre there, it could end Ms. Clinton\’s campaign – and her political career – on a dime.

So is the fact that the company in charge of her server says it is highly likely all the emails exist, and that they are cooperating with the FBI, a big story?  No, that is too mild an assessment.  It is a HUGE story.

Now, go to ABC News\’ web site.  Here is the link.  See if it is the lead story.  See if it is a major story.  See if it is even so munch as mentioned there.  Or, you can take my word for the fact that, unless I missed it, the answer to those three questions, in order, is no, no and no.

There is, however, a story about Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) calling the investigation a “witch hunt” (an expression which, interestingly enough, some of Hillary Clinton\’s opponents might find an indelicate way of using).

In other words, ABC News\’s own Jonathan Karl breaks what could turn out to be the biggest story of the campaign.  But – keeping in mind that it is potentially disastrous news for Hillary Clinton – the network has immediately buried it.

Nor did I hear a word about it on this morning\’s Today Show.  Nor did I read a word about it in today\’s New York Times.

So, yes, I often attack our mainstream media as being partisan.

Do you blame me?
