DONALD TRUMP: THE WORLD\’S RICHEST BARROOM LOUDMOUTH

Donald Trump is having a ball.

Media are all over him.  He is a lead story every day.  Exactly what Trump craves.

And he still does not have to worry about talking honestly about anything.  Media are still loving his blunter-than-blunt opinions about political issues (mostly, it should be noted, as a way of showing what terrible people Republicans are – i.e. they would give the world\’s richest barroom loudmouth a lead in major polls).

When do these same media start calling him on the toss-off comments he continually make, that have no basis in reality?  When do they start reacting seriously to Trump\’s incredibly overdone opinion of himself?

I think I\’ll help out:  here is a good starting point for them.

Excerpted from Angelo Young\’s article in today’s International Business Times:

A day after Donald Trump announced the formation of “Veterans For Trump,” a small New Hampshire-based coalition that supports the bellicose business mogul\’s bid for the White House, at least two of the veterans named as supporters distanced themselves from team Trump. The announcement of the veterans group came five days after Trump said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is only considered a war hero because he was captured by the enemy during the Vietnam War.

“I don\’t know anything about it,” said Ernie Fusi, a World War II veteran whose name was still listed among the 51 veteran supporters on Trump\’s campaign website on Saturday.

And how many others will say the same if asked?  I don\’t know, but I\’m betting they are out there.

Add this to the list of half truths and whole cloth that Donald Trump keeps pumping out.  But you\’ll have to reach, because that pile is getting very high already – mostly with his comments about how people are loving what he says and what he does.

Yes, Donald Trump is ahead in polls…with a small plurality, which exists because media are covering just about no candidates other than him, and 15 other candidates splitting the rest.

But it is an excellent bet that this is about as far as he will ever get.  That as soon as the herd thins down – i.e. when the no-possibility candidates start dropping out and media, albeit grudgingly, start covering other candidates – they will rise while he will sit stagnant or drop.

Then, my guess is that Trump will drop out, informing us that the country clearly is not ready for someone who tells the truth and is prepared to do exactly what he says he will:  in other words, we are not ready for someone as great as he is.  Mission accomplished.

And if/when this happens?  I won\’t miss him.  Not for one second.

Will you?
