From my cousin Kathi/Hana, we have this very insightful, very troubling cartoon:
Anyone who knows a thing about Iran over the past 36 years know that it will not abide by any treaty it signs with anyone…and that goes double for any treaty signed with the United States….and quadruple for any treaty that would in any way benefit Israel, which Iran is unalterably committed to wiping off the map.
Why do you suppose Iranians are encouraged to go to the streets every week and chant “Death To America! Death to Israel!”, even as the negotiations were being conducted? Because they LIKE them? Because they RESPECT them? Because they give a DAMN about adhering to a treaty which is supposed to benefit them?
The fact that President Obama and John Kerry claim – maybe even believe – that this is a workable deal, says a lot about them: none of it good.
How tragic that they have made this “deal” – this ridiculous, nonexistent deal – in our name.
And how likely it is that Iran\’s immediate ignoring of the conditions of the “deal” (it has announced there will be no inspections of its military sites, regardless of whether nuclear activities are taking place in them) will result in one or more countries – you certainly can count Israel among them, but they won\’t be the only ones – being forced to do something about it.
