THE IRS\’S Z STREET SHUFFLE

This is dedicated to The Lost Tribe – i.e. the Jews, and non-Jews, who support Israel yet still can figure out a way to support Barack Obama and his administration.

Excerpted from Scott Johnson\’s blog at powerlineblog.com:

The pro-Israel group Z Street had its application for tax-exempt status held up at the IRS. When founder Lori Lowenthal Marcus asked why, she was told that IRS auditors had been instructed to give pro-Israel groups special attention and that Z Street\’s application had been forwarded to a special IRS unit for additional review. Not to put too fine a point on the legal issues, this isn\’t kosher. It\’s illegal.

Z Street filed a lawsuit against the IRS in the rosy dawn of the Age of Obama (NOTE:  though Scott does not say so here, the suit was filed in 2009); the lawsuit has failed to get beyond the IRS\’s motion for dismissal. The Free Beacon\’s Alana Goodman wrote about the lawsuit here last year when the DC District Court denied the IRS motion to dismiss the case. Z Street\’s Lori Marcus wrote about it here. John wrote about it in 2013 in the post “The other IRS scandal.”

Working with unusual swiftness, the DC Circuit handed down its opinion today. The court unanimously rejected the arguments advanced by the IRS. The court\’s opinion is accessible online here.

Z Street is now free to pursue its claim and conduct discovery.

What a shock.  The IRS was instructed, by the Obama administration, to put the wood to a pro-Israel group….as acknowledged via the DC Curcuit Court\’s unanimous opinion.

Will this make a dent – even a slight one – in The Lost Tribe\’s pro-Obama armor?  Nope.  When it comes to Emperor Barack these people are impervious to rational thought.

But if you are not a member of this self-benighted group, I assume you will see the IRS\’s action for what it is…..and marvel that they won\’t (not can\’t, but won\’t).

Still 19 more months to the end of this nightmare administration.  I count the seconds.
