fredricka whitfield is a “journalist”, currently employed by CNN.
Why?
Because of what she said, yesterday, about the deranged lunatic who planted explosives, shot up a Dallas police station (fortunately no one was hurt – though not for lack of trying), led police, dependingon which report you hear, on a 14 – 18 mile chase (again, great luck that no one was hurt or killed when it was in progress), and finally was shot dead:
Here is what whitfield had to say about him:
“It was very courageous and brave, if not crazy as well, to open fire on the police headquarters, and now you have this scene, this standoff. So you believe these are the hallmarks of more than one person\’s involvement”
Courageous? Brave?
Either fredricka whitfield is gulty of an amazingly egregious misspeak, or she believes it is courageous and brave to plant bombs and then, without any provocation, shoot up a police station, with the intent of killing police officers – no officer in particular, just any who, by accident of dumb luck, happen to be in the line of fire.
If I were running CNN, the only way fredricka whitfield could have saved her job would have been with an immediate, clearly sincere, apology. But a day has gone by and, having googled “fredricka whitfield apology” I cannot find one.
Asking again: Why does fredricka whitfield still have a job?
==============================================
UPDATE: fredricka whitfield has now addressed her beyond-belief comment about the Dallas gunman.
Please note that I have not said she apologized. Because she didn\’t.
Her exact words:
“Yesterday, during a segment on the Dallas Police Department attack, I used the words \’courageous\’ and \’brave\’ when discussing the gunman. I misspoke. I in no way believe the gunman was courageous nor brave.”
Misspoke? Misspoke is when you said something that was meant one way and came out another. Can you see any meaning in her original statement other than what she so clearly said in the first place? Because I cannot.
If CNN neither suspends nor fires fredricka whitfield for what she said as its on-air representative, that is the network\’s business….and the network\’s shame. But be assured that, If I were in charge, she would be looking for a new job right now.
