As an interesting, if not particularly important, part of yesterday\’s election story concerns Sandra Fluke, who decided to parlay her one-issue existence into a seat in the California State Senate. She ran against fellow Democrat Ben Allen (in California, the top two primary vote-getters run, regardless of party)…and lost in a landslide, 61% – 39%,
Ironically, Wendy Davis, her soul sister in one-issueness who was running for Governor in Texas, lost by very close to the same margin: 59% – 39%.
Maybe, just maybe, women whose sole claim to fame is that they demand free contraception and unlimited abortion, may not be primo candidates in elections where there are other issues which voters might be at least somewhat interested in…like, for example, the economy, terrorism, amnesty for illegals, those kind of things.
