Following is a verbatim quote from NBC Chief White House Correspondent Hallie Jackson, during this morning’s report on the possible impeachment of President Trump.
Speaking of the so-called “whistleblower”, she said:
“with President Trump stepping up his attacks against the anonymous person who first reported on that phone call with the leader of Ukraine in which President Trump suggested withholding military aid for political help at home…”
Did President Trump suggest withholding military aid for political help at home during that call?
Well, read the transcript. See if you can find it. Look until your eyes fall out. And it still will not be there.
Nowhere in that transcript is there any discussion of withholding military aid. Not stated, not implied.
And, in case you think maybe it really was there but the Trump people doctored the transcript…
…please remember that Ukraine President Zelensky has stated, in so many words, that the transcript is accurate, that he felt no pressure to do anything, and that, in any event, he was unaware that aid was being held up at all, let alone being withheld until he gave President Trump “political help at home”.
The inescapable conclusion? This report is a flat out lie.
It is not a report that could be interpreted different ways, it is not a report that states this claim as an allegation which might or might not be true, it is a flat-out lie…
…which every viewer who relies on NBC for news, now “knows” to be a fact.
And NBC is far from the only media venue spouting exactly the same kind of lies. Daily.
Then these same media venues put up polls showing that there is an increase in the number of people who think President Trump should be impeached.
Impeached for what? What they’re lying to the public about?
No wonder Democrats do not want an actual impeachment vote, which would enable Republicans, in open, NOT secret hearings, to present its side of the story.
Why not just leave their accomplice media to do the work for them?
To paraphrase Captain Louis Renault from the movie Casablanca, “I’m shocked that NBC news would lie to its viewers.”
