THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today\’s quote will come to us from President Barack Obama.  I say “will” come – future tense – because it has not yet aired;  it will be on this morning\’s Meet The Press show.

As you probably are aware, Mr. Obama has decided to hold off on telling us what he intends to do about illegal aliens and amnesty until after the midterm elections.

Most of us, I am sure, see this as a lie: i.e. the real reason is that most of the public opposes amnesty, so by holding off on granting amnesty he can get more of them to vote for Democrats in November and maybe keep his senate majority.

But the President, of course, does not want people to see this as the lie that it is.  So he has figured out a rationale for the delay that we\’re supposed to buy into – which he is floating on this morning\’s Meet The Press show.

According to the NBC News web site, “In an exclusive interview with Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd, President Barack Obama defended his decision to delay executive action on immigration, saying the summer\’s surge of unaccompanied children at the Mexican border changed the politics of the issue.”

President Obama\’s exact words:

“Thetruth of the matter is that the politics did shift midsummer becauseof that problem.  I want to spend some time, evenas we\’re getting all our ducks in a row for the executive action, Ialso want to make sure that the public understands why we\’re doingthis, why it\’s the right thing for the American people, why it\’s theright thing for the American economy.”

Wait a minute.

Is Barack Obama actually telling us that the politics shifted because a lot of illegal minors flooded into the country in midsummer?  That this is a change from what was already happening?

Does this man think he is the reincarnation of Houdini? Does he think he can wave a magic wand and make us forget that the surge of illegal minors was not some midsummer event, but started long before this summer – and has been just fine with Mr. Obama from day one?  Does he think we have a collective IQ of 53?

And what is this “we\’re getting all our ducks in a row” blather.  He was ready to inflict his executive order on us last month, wasn\’t he?  Those ducks were in a row then, weren\’t they?  The only thing that changed was that a few of the polls came out that showed it would be a political disaster, so he decided to hold off, in the hope that he could rope in as many suckers as possible during the midterm elections.

I award Barack Obama Quote Of The Day honors, for showing us again, as he has so often in the past, that he thinks we are a bunch of morons who will dumbly, reflexively believe whatever he says, no matter how ridiculous it is, because he is The Great and Powerful Wizard Of Obama.

The congratulations are for his arrogance in doing so…..and for the fact that there are still plenty of people who, sad to say, he is reading correctly.
