THE QUOTE OF THE DAY

Today\’s quote of the day comes to us from Peggy Joseph – a name which, I am guessing, is not familiar to you.

First, the quote…

“Hewas not who we thought or expected him to be….Truth and honesty areimportant. He lied about everything…just like the Wizard of Oz,Obama has turned out to be nothing more than a man behind a curtain.”

Well said.

Now a reminder of who Peggy Joseph is.

Ms. Joseph is the Florida woman who, during the 2008 presidential campaign, in the throes of a Barack Obama-induced rapture, excitedly told us that, if Mr. Obama became President, he would “pay for my gas and my mortgage.”

Well, he didn\’t.  Ms. Joseph made her Quote Of The Day while being interviewd by conservative documentarian Joel Gilbert, for his latest project, “There\’s No Place Like Utopia,” which will premier this Friday in Denver, then go to limited release with the intention of wider coverage thereafter.  Its theme is that there are a lot of other Peggy Josephs out there – i.e. people, often minorities, who are disillusioned with the difference between what Barack Obama – and liberal/left politicians in general – have promised and what they have delivered.

Peggy Joseph herself, Mr. Gilbert tells us, is somewhat of a surprise to him.  Her words may have given the impression she had her hand out for Obama freebies…but it turns out she is a working mother of four who has never taken government assistance.  She told Gilbert the “pay for my gas and my mortgage” comment was made after hearing Barack Obama, when she was caught up in the moment.

I award Ms. Joseph Quote Of The Day honors because she is no longer caught up in the moment, only in the reality that Barack Obama promised a lot of things to a lot of people that he had no intention of delivering on.

But he did get their votes, didn\’t he?
