Regular readers of this blog will be very familiar with the above title. I have used it as the rueful last line of dozens of blogs over the years.
Unfortunately, there is no shortage of examples. Here is one of them, from the invaluable camusreform.org, in which students are first asked their opinions of socialism…and then asked to define what they just gave their opinion about:
In other words, beyond “it would be great if everyone got stuff (tra la la)” cliché, they don’t have the slightest idea of what they are talking about.
But they’re still talking, aren’t they? Just like so many in our colleges and universities want them to.
Like the title says: keep ’em ignorant and you own ’em.
Like going to college uhm doesn’t mean like you know uh that you are like smarter than uh like uh other people.
