This is a matter of self-preservation. The fascist Berkeley brownshirts rule the school and rule the city. If Coulter tries to speak she will be in dire physical jeopardy.
I don’t blame her.
But if it is any consolation to Ms. Coulter, the behavior of these thuggees in black hoods and masks is almost certain to send voters – maybe a lot of them – to the side that she supports, and they hate.
Personally, I am no fan of Ann Coulter. I have made that clear in several posts over the years. But I am a big fan of freedom of speech. Therefore, in this case, I am solidly on her side.
