ABC’s Cecilia Vega reported Sunday that the Hillary Clinton campaign was “certainly in damage control mode” in the aftermath of her FBI interview over the criminal investigation into her private email server, adding that trust was an issue even with her own supporters.
Clinton was interviewed by the FBI for three-and-a-half hours as the probe into her private server and potential mishandling of criminal investigation at the State Department entered its final stages. Vega said the interview happening on a Saturday morning of a holiday weekend was part of the campaign’s strategy to limit the bad publicity.
“There were no videos, no photos of Hillary Clinton going in or out of the FBI headquarters,” Vega said. “That’s the last thing the campaign wanted in this, for an image like that to emerge. Her campaign is certainly in damage control mode right now.”
Vega said the campaign wants to change the narrative and hopes the public will be distracted by 4th of July festivities.
“But Cecilia, you cover this campaign every day. You talk to senior officials,” This Week host Martha Raddatz said. “Do they not get how serious this is, how this looks to voters?”
“They get that trust and honesty is a huge problem for Hillary Clinton, if not the biggest problem facing her right now as she heads into this general election against Donald Trump,” Vega said.
Indeed, polls show that while Trump is viewed even more negatively than Clinton, voters give him higher marks on honesty and trustworthiness.
Vega then dropped this bombshell to end her report.
“The real problem, Martha, is they may not be able to change all of these minds out there,” Vega said. “You and I have both spoken with people all around this country, even Hillary Clinton supporters who say they don’t trust her either.”
I have a question for our wonderful “neutral” media: WHY are there “no videos, no photos of Hillary Clinton going in or out of the FBI headquarters”? Didn’t Hillary Clinton say she was very happy to have this interview?
Why would mainstream media collude with Hillary Clinton this way?
I can only think of one reason, and it is that about the last thing she wanted to do, or to have anyone see her doing, was entering FBI headquarters to be interrogated about possible criminal behavior….so our mainstream media, ever vigilant to protect their anointed Queen, declined to provide the visuals.
And this is far from the first time one of the Clintons attempted to shroud a meeting in secrecy. Who instructed the FBI to demand no pictures, no cell phones and no recordings, when Hubby Bubba secretly met with Attorney General and Obama sock-puppet Loretta Lynch last week…until one reporter (Christopher Sign, also from ABC…I wonder if that means something) blew their cover wide open and then the others had to report it?
Bottom line: Bill and Hillary Clinton do not – repeat, do NOT – want the suckers voters to know what they are cooking up….and most media are perfectly happy to help them hide it.
If you have a more plausible explanation, bring it on.
