Here, according to Sean Higgins’ article for the Washington Examiner, is the Congressional Black Caucus’s (CBC’s) idea of being effective when it comes to gun violence:
The Congressional Black Caucus is calling on its members “to be as disruptive to Speaker Ryan as possible next week” when the House returns for business on Tuesday.
The Washington Examiner has obtained a memo sent to Democratic offices that states that CBC members are coordinating a “day of action on the floor in regards to gun violence.”
There you go. Disrupt Paul Ryan any way you can. Yep, that’ll solve the gun violence problem all right.
And what is the CBC’s beef with Ryan?
The article continues:
Ryan said Thursday that he will hold a vote on a gun control bill next week, bowing to pressure for legislation in the wake of the shooting in Orlando that killed 49 people on June 12. Dubbed, “No fly, no buy,” the GOP legislation would limit access to firearms by those on federal terror watch lists.
The announcement has not satiated Democrats who want even more restrictive measures passed. They are demanding to be able to further amend the legislation, something Ryan and the other GOP leaders have not been keen on.
A question for the CBC: Since the vast majority of gun violence is committed using illegally obtained guns, and the majority of illegal gun users are young Black males shooting other Black people…how is this disruption performance going help prevent gun violence – especially in primarily Black communities?
Tell you what I think:
-I think that, given the huge percentage of gun violence in primarily Black communities that is committed with illegally obtained, it isn’t going to prevent a thing.
-I think the Congressional Black Caucus doesn’t give a damn about gun violence. Because if it did, its members would be demanding legislation that addresses ILLEGAL gun usage, which is the scourge of Black communities.
-I think that what the CBC is doing, is putting on a grotesque dog-and-pony show, to create the illusion they are addressing gun violence.
-I think the CBC is doing this to avoid having to deal with the horrific level of Black on Black gun crime – a reality they would have to openly admit in order to push legislation that would address it.
-I think this shows that the CBC would rather engage in a cynical, meaningless game of politics than worry about the huge cost of Black on Black gun violence on innocent Black people.
-I therefore think the blood of those innocent Black people is, in large part, on their hands.
That’s what I think. What do you think?

I think this racist organization [the CBC] should be disbanded. I can’t believe such an overtly racist group has been allowed to exist as a part of the government. How can anyone justify the existence of a segregated government organization???
Because, bizarrely, if you accuse a Black racist organization of being racist, you are almost certain to be called the racist.
