THE HILLARY CLINTON COAL MINING LIE

Yesterday, at a round table discussion in West Virginia, Bo Copley, a coal mining foreman who has lost his job, asked this of Hillary Clinton:

“I just want to know how you can say you’re going to put a lot of coal miners out of, out of jobs, and then come in here and tell us how you’re going to be our friend, because those people out there don’t see you as a friend.”

Ms. Clinton’s answer to Mr. Copley was:

“I don’t know how to explain it other than what I said was totally out of context from what I meant, because I’ve been talking about helping coal country for a very long time.  And it was a misstatement, because what I was saying is that the way things are going now, we will continue to lose jobs.

“I didn’t mean that we were going to do it, what I said was, that is going to happen unless we take action to try to and help and prevent it.

“I do feel a little bit sad and sorry that I gave folks the reason or the excuse to be so upset with me, because that is not what I intended at all”.

What Hillary Clinton actually said, at a March 13th town hall meeting, aired by CNN:

“I’m the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country.  Because we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business, right, Tim?

Ms. Clinton ends this part of her commentary looking at “Tim” with a smile  Click here and see for yourself.

It is true that Ms. Clinton then goes on to say she commiserates with the coal miners and will work to get them other employment.  But her answer to Mr. Copley was that, no, she didn’t say she’d put anyone out of work,  only that circumstances – “the way things are going now” – were doing that.

In other words, she lied to his face.  Just as she continuously lies to everyone else.

Does Hillary Clinton even know how to tell the truth anymore?
