THE CENSUS COUNT: LEGAL CITIZENS AND ILLEGAL ALIENS

Is there any difference between legal immigrants and illegals?

Not if you are one of the Democrats running the state of California.  And, apparently, not if you are David Siders, writing for politico.com.

An excerpt from Siders’ article tells the story:

LOS ANGELES — Fear is rising among Democrats over the prospect that President Donald Trump’s hard line on immigration might ultimately cost California a seat in Congress during the upcoming round of reapportionment.

Top Democrats here are increasingly worried the administration’s restrictive policies — and the potential inclusion of a question about citizenship on the next U.S. census — could scare whole swaths of California’s large immigrant population away from participating in the decennial count, resulting in an undercount that could cost the state billions of dollars in federal funding over the next decade and, perhaps, the loss of one of its 53 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Tell us, Mr. Siders, why do you think this would happen?  Why would so many “immigrants” duck that question?

Let me help you out.

The reason “whole swaths of California’s large immigrant population” would be scared away is that they are ILLEGAL immigrants who SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN COUNTED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Got that, Mr. Siders?  Loud enough for you to hear?

Put another way, a census of the citizens in a state is meant to count the citizens in the state.  Not the people who came in illegally and have no right to be here.  They are not citizens.

But try to find this reality in Siders’ article.  You can look until your eyeballs beg for mercy, and you won’t be able to.

You will, however, see this segment of California’s population referred to as “immigrants”.  Not illegal immigrants, just “immigrants”.  To Siders – and, apparently, the vastly Democrat state government of California – the issue of legality does not exist

Note to California.  YOU may not think it exists.  But it does.  And these people, if illegal, have no business being counted to pad your electoral vote total.
