This can\’t be real. I must be dreaming.
Did Secretary of State John Kerry actually go to Paris to make amends for President Obama\’s monumentally either stupid or purposeful blunder in not attending Sunday\’s march against terrorism, thinking that a has-been singer, performing a 44 year old whiny song most Parisians probably never even heard of, “You\’ve Got A Friend”, would somehow make things better?
Our President wasn\’t there for the march – even though 40 other heads of state were. Our Attorney General was there, but didn\’t bother to attend. Neither of them will even call the scum who attacked Charlie Hebdo and the kosher market Islamic terrorists – which, of course, they are.
But none of that is supposed to count because James Taylor is going to strum on his guitar and sing to the French people?
“When you\’re down and troubled and you need a helping hand, and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right, close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there, to brighten up even your darkest nights.”. Guaranteed to strike fear into the heart of every ISIS and al-qaeda operative, while warming the cockles of every French heart, I\’m sure.
Shame on me. I keep thinking that this administration could not possibly find a way to make us more of an international laughingstock than it already has. And I keep being proved wrong.
