Ok, I admit this is one of those things that you canfind humor in, even though it isn\’t really funny. But after being shutout of blogging for three days, I\’m in the mood. So here goes.
As you probably know, McDonald\’s dropped its “Youdeserve a break today” slogan many years ago, in favor of “I\’m Lovin\’it”.
But, at least for one of its Hong Kong locations, theybetter never change to “I\’m noticin\’ it”.
Excerpted from GloriaChan\’s article at South China Morning Post:
Policeare trying to confirm the identity of a homeless woman who was found dead in a24-hour McDonald\’s outlet at a public housing estate in Kowloon Bay yesterdaymorning.
Thewoman, aged around 50 to 60 years, was found slumped over her table in a quietcorner, 24 hours after she entered the restaurant at Ping Shek Estate, whileother customers were unaware what had happened.
Well, when they say “in a quiet corner”,they certainly mean it.
And the fact that this is a 24 hour location (no”hey lady, you have to leave now”), and knowing the air quality ofHong Kong (which, despite the name of the city meaning “fragrantharbor”, is terribly polluted), it could have been weeks, maybe months, before anyone noticed.
There is no truth to the rumor that the last thing themanager said before they carried her from the restaurant was”TAKE-OUT!”
