President Obama has not yet made tonight\’s foreign policy address. But the White House has released this excerpt.
Before reading it, please be aware that, although I don\’t think it is meant as satire, I can\’t be 100% sure:
“ButI want the American people to understand how this effort will bedifferent from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. It will not involveAmerican combat troops fighting on foreign soil. Thiscounter-terrorism campaign will be waged through a steady, relentlesseffort to take out ISIL wherever they exist using our air power andour support for partner forces on the ground. This strategy of takingout terrorists who threaten us, while supporting partners on thefront lines, is one that we have successfully pursued in Yemen andSomalia for years.”
Yemen? Somalia?
A lawless terrorist breeding ground and the radical-Islamic home of al shabaab? These are our SUCCESSES????????????
Has President Obama taken leave of his senses?
Please hope along with me that this is either a typo, a draft that has since been discarded, or a satire.
